Mission 54

On the roof deck of Princess Lorelei, Yor and the Swordsman continue their clash. Below, Loid and Anya return to the ship's halls after watching the fireworks show. Loid is glad that Anya enjoyed the fireworks but apologizes for not being able to find Yor, making Anya remember her goal to find Yor and help her.

Loid notices the undercover SSS agents in turmoil, and after reading their lips, he learns of a bomb in the ship's bilge. Unable to dismiss the possibility of something terrible happening if he stands by, Loid decides to intervene but first wonders how to get Anya out of the way. Anya reads his mind and shows him a drop-in daycare, saying she wants to play there. After dropping off Anya, Loid makes haste to gather intel. The daycare worker then turns to talk with Anya, who has also left on her own.

In the bilge, a crew member tries to handle the bomb with SSS agents breathing down his neck. Loid enters the room as another crew member, claiming to have served as a bomb-disposal technician in the Marines, and offers his assistance. Loid asks if the bomb can be moved, but the crew member replies that it is set to detonate if removed. Upon closer inspection, Loid sees that the bomb is a model favored by Western extremists and wonders if the target is an Eastern VIP or the ship itself. Knowing that WISE would be aware of any operations like this, he suspects it was arranged to look like a Western operation. The crew member asks Loid if there is anything he can do, and Loid assures him that he has this covered.

Meanwhile, Anya runs around the ship looking for Yor. She then hears the thoughts of the informant, who plans to make his exit, and mentions where Yor is fighting with the other assassins. Anya hears his thoughts coming from the front of the boat, but after she loses him, she rushes to Yor's location. There, Anya finds Yor's weapon, which she had dropped earlier. While Anya tries removing it from the floorboards, she hears Yor's thoughts. Above, Yor is fighting with the Swordsman, now having the upper hand. However, she lacks the reach to finish him off and end the fight. In addition, the Assassin Leader fires at Yor, keeping her at a distance from the Swordsman.

After hearing this and seeing no stairs to reach Yor, Anya decides to help Yor by throwing her weapon up to the deck. Anya manages to get it to the deck, but it does not go too far, landing at a lone spot far from the fight. While disappointed, Anya overhears two assassins nearby planning to kill Olka and escape from Yor. As the men make their way to the hatch Olka, Gram, and Zeb are hiding in, one of them trips on Yor's weapon. The man falls back on a pipe and is knocked out, but not before firing his submachine gun and hitting the leg of his partner, who falls over and knocks himself out against the crate covering the hatch. After, Yor's weapon bounces and pierces the partner's rear. Anya hears this and says it was just as she planned.

Yor hears the gunshots and turns around to see her weapon. After Yor retrieves it, she prepares to charge at the Swordsman for one final strike. Seeing this, the Swordsman sheaths his blade, also preparing for the attack. After Yor charges in, the Assassin Leader tries to shoot her, but he is shot by a reawakened Matthew and falls. Yor and the Swordsman quickly swipe at each other while passing and fall to the floor at the same time, but the Swordsman collapses with blood seeping from his chest. Anya is worried by the silence, but after hearing Yor think about how exhausted she is, Anya happily confirms that Yor won.

Back in the bilge, Loid successfully disarms the bomb. Everyone inside cheers, and as a SSS agent congratulates Loid, he thinks that being surrounded by them was more stressful than dealing with the bomb. However, while the men celebrate, Loid's face becomes stern, having grown a suspicion. The chapter ends with the informant sadistically bidding farewell to Princess Lorelei while another time bomb ticks inside the boat.

Discordia

It is said Rome wasn't built in a day. Whether the sweeping arches of the Colosseum, the long stretch of the aqueducts, or the power the Servian Wall, none can truly claim they were the origin that “built” Rome. For as mighty as she has become, Rome might have never been were it not for the mischief of the Goddess Discordia.

Once known among the Greeks as Eris, the maligned Goddess of Strife, Discordia craved to unleash her full potential, to unravel the foundations of the mortals and deities that hated her. She found that opportunity through the vanity of others.

Conjuring a golden apple, Eris cast it forth. Upon it read the words ‘for the fairest.’ A phrase that would set Athena, Hera, and Aphrodite against one another. A phrase that would cause Paris to kidnap Menelaus' wife, Helen. A phrase that would ignite the Trojan War.

As chaos swirled, as cities crumbled, as heroes both Greek and Trojan fell to each other's blades and Gods grew to loathe one another, no one seemed to wonder from whence the golden apple came. It was masterful! Eventually, the Trojan War reached its peak, and Eris attached herself to the mortal Aeneus. She guided him safely from Troy, across the sea and wilderness, to the place where a new nation would be built. Here, Aeneus founded Rome.

Free of the judgement she wore under the Greeks, bereft of the belittling glares of the other Gods, Eris was remade as Discordia. A Roman Goddess of importance and prominence. Indeed, Rome was not built in a day. It was the culmination of a plan for one Goddess to reinvent herself as more than she ever was.

And all with one golden apple.

Siege Tank Operator

Alabama Kowalski, also known as "Sgt. Hammer," is a famed Crucio-siege tank pilot of the Terran Dominion. Her ability to deliver her shells within inches of her allies has earned her a reputation among the Dominion Marine Corps, with some marines remarking "never trust a women who paints her tank red."

Siege tanks are terran vehicles that can be configured to fulfill both the armored support and the long-range artillery support roles. The dual-mode siege tank concept was a Terran Confederacy response to the Guild Wars and the Goliath. Prior to the war, work had progressed on a static "final defense" cannon. However, the conflict demonstrated the need for mobility and as a result an effort was made to make the cannon more mobile. The solution was creative. An existing tank design was modified so that it could operate as a conventional tank in addition to being able to deploy the cannon and become a static artillery emplacement at will. Mobile siege tanks were in existence by 2480, several years before the official beginning of the Guild Wars. Two primary variants of the siege tank exist the Arclite, in service during the Great War, and the Crucio, which remained the core siege tank of the Dominion in the Second Great War and beyond.

Siege tanks function in two modes. First is the "tank" or "assault mode" in which the vehicle may be used in the familiar armored support role using relatively light weapons. The second is the more radical "siege mode" in which the vehicle becomes a static emplacement able to deploy a much more powerful and longer ranged weapon.

Walking Small

The episode begins at Goo Lagoon, where Plankton arrives in his bulldozer to turn the beach into the future site of the "Chum Bucket Mega Bucket," and demands everyone to leave. However, due to his tiny size and small voice nobody pays attention to him. He concludes that he needs someone bigger to assist him, and encounters SpongeBob. Plankton decides to trick SpongeBob into being "assertive" in order to get what he wants.

SpongeBob tries to buy ice cream, but gets cut off once and then has his ice cream stolen before the vendor runs out. However, he finds Plankton "complaining" about having an extra ice cream cone he did not want. SpongeBob offers to take the extra one, and as he eats it, Plankton offers to teach SpongeBob how to be "assertive." He tries to get SpongeBob to take his ice cream back from the person who stole it, but SpongeBob's kindly nature prevents him from being able to take it. Plankton, unhappy with SpongeBob's performance, climbs into SpongeBob's mouth and uses his words to forcefully take the ice cream. Afterward, the guy who stole SpongeBob's ice cream runs off crying. When SpongeBob points this out, Plankton lies and says those were the "tears of joy," saying that the guy was happy that SpongeBob was "assertive."

Next, Plankton attempts to have SpongeBob forcefully take back his metal detector that he lent to another beach-goer, yet SpongeBob misinterprets Plankton's instructions and the person he lent the detector to is led to buried treasure by SpongeBob.

By this point, Plankton decides to give up, but SpongeBob promises to prove to him his ability to be assertive. Therefore, Plankton allows SpongeBob another chance. SpongeBob commits a series of both assertive and antagonistic acts to other beach-goers, including stealing the hot dogs of people waiting in line to buy them and cutting the strings of people's kites, and even worse, popping a volleyball that the beach-goers wanted to play with, resulting in everyone leaving the beach.

Plankton then reveals his true intentions to SpongeBob, making him very upset. SpongeBob defeats Plankton by becoming "aggressively nice," and he undoes the actions that led everyone to leave Goo Lagoon. Plankton sadly leaves the beach due to the crowd returning in response to the overwhelmingly generous acts of kindness that SpongeBob performed. Lastly, everyone plays volleyball using SpongeBob as their ball, as the episode ends.
