Chapter 59

In order to save Sanji's life, Luffy decides to destroy the Baratie. While they are arguing, Pearl attacks them but Gin knocks him out as he wants to kill Sanji himself.

Obligation

Sanji continues to let Pearl assault him as he has decided to die rather than let the Baratie be taken by the Krieg Pirates. Luffy becomes angry as he does not understand how Sanji's death would repay Zeff's sacrifice. To put an end to Sanji's suicide, he destroys the Baratie since it is the target of Don Krieg. While Sanji and Luffy fighting about the best solution to save Zeff, Pearl decides to attack them. However, he is stopped by Gin, who defeats him with one blow. He proclaims he will take care of Sanji's death, personally.

Mission 44

The Thorn Princess and her colleague arrive at a garden maintained by the Shopkeeper. While she takes a moment to smell the flowers, the Shopkeeper decides to test her instincts. After successfully dodging the attack, he apologizes for his sudden attack but is satisfied that her reflexes have not dulled. Shopkeeper then briefs Yor on her latest assignment, the protection of a lady and her child aboard the cruise ship Princess Lorelei.

After explaining the background and what the assignment entails, the Thorn Princess hesitates to take on the job as she worries about her cover at work and home. However, Garden has already prepared a cover story that she is there as part of her work. With her mind at rest, the Thorn Princess gladly accepts the assignment.

On her way back home, Yor runs into Yuri, who is dozing off on the subway. She approaches him and wonders out loud why he is on a route that he usually does not ride, for which Yuri explains that he is on his way back from a work trip (but was actually arresting a dissident). She then invites him over for dinner, but he declines. Yor asks Yuri if he is taking care of himself, to which he reassures her that he is not a child anymore and can also be relied on. The siblings bid goodbye as Yuri gets off his stop, but he runs after the train in tears as it moves away. Yor thinks about how Yuri is all grown-up now and wonders to herself, because he no longer needs her help, why she is keeping her assassin job.

Meanwhile, Central Mall is hosting their biannual mega raffle, with the grand prize being a pair of tickets for a voyage on a cruise ship. Having completed their shopping, Anya notices the raffle and asks Loid for the raffle ticket they have earned to try her luck. As Anya queues for the raffle, she discovers through her telepathy that the person in charge of the event has rigged it after sticking the winning ticket to the top of the raffle box so he and his partner can go. With this information in mind, Anya pulls out the winning ticket.

At home, Anya happily parades the tickets she won as Yor arrives home. Loid suggests Yor go with Anya because he has work, but after seeing the tickets, Yor reveals she is already going on the same boat as part of her work trip. Reading Yor's thoughts that the family's presence there might complicate her assassin job, Anya contemplates going on the trip. Reasoning that she can help Yor with her job, Anya ultimately decides that she wants to go, throwing a tantrum. Loid reluctantly agrees to ask if he can get time off his work. When he does, he is surprised that Sylvia accepts his request and makes arrangements to get him time off from the hospital as well, then tells him to consider the vacation another mission.

The big day arrives, and the Forgers make their way to the port by train, leaving Bond at home with Franky. Anya is excited about their trip, while Yor feels she would enjoy it if she was not there for her job. However, she ponders making this the Thorn Princess's final job. The Forgers arrive at the port, and Anya is amazed by the size of Princess Lorelei. Before meeting with her colleagues, Yor says farewell to Loid and Anya, promising to contact them when she can.

The chapter closes as passengers board the boat with shadowy figures among them.

Chaac

Rain is life. Showers from above soak the earth, feeding seeds which grow into precious fruits and grains. Man and beast alike are sustained by this cycle. Without rain, this world would be barren and all living things would turn to dust. Thus is the power of Chaac, God of Rain. But, like all great power, it did not come without cost.

In mankind's earliest days there were no farmers, so they starved beneath the sun. For days, Chaac sought a way to feed them. Deep in the mountains he discovered a golden boulder and cleft it with his mighty axe. Within was Maize, the crop that would change the Maya people forever, and Chaac was worshipped and adored for it.

Drunk with pride, Chaac sought the object of his deepest desire, the wife of his brother. For a time, their affair remained secret, but that was not to last. Chaac's brother, the Sun God, discovered them. Without a word, she dutifully returned to her husband and Chaac, realizing what he had done, let her go, but a rift formed between the two brothers that would never heal. In his grief, Chaac drove his axe into the sky, and from the wound tears of regret fell.

Since then, Chaac has chosen a life free of pride and selfishness, devoting himself only to mankind. As a reminder of his greatest failing, he continues to cleave the heavens, washing the land in sustaining waters. Thus do crops grow. Thus do the people survive. Thus is the power of Chaac, God of Rain.

I Was a Teenage Gary

SpongeBob is playing with Gary when Patrick comes and tells him about the Jellyfishing Convention in Ukulele Bottom that weekend. Realizing that he will not be able to take Gary, SpongeBob asks Squidward to look after the snail while he is away. SpongeBob takes Squidward around his house, telling him that he will have to feed Gary for three days. There are very large cans of snail food with the words "morning" and "night" written on them so that Squidward will be able to keep track. Eager to get rid of both of them, Squidward lies and says that he will do it to get SpongeBob and Patrick to leave. Finally they do, and Squidward runs out of SpongeBob's house and sits in a lounge chair to sunbathe for the whole weekend, thus ignoring Gary. He soaks up plenty of sun, but Gary is left in the house, looking longingly in the direction where SpongeBob left, horribly neglected.

When SpongeBob gets back, Squidward suddenly remembers that he was supposed to take care of Gary. However, when he goes to get to the snail, he finds him very sick, due to lack of food, water, and attention. Squidward, thinking he will be able to help, tries to give Gary some food. However, Gary is so weak from waiting for SpongeBob to come home, he is limp in Squidward's arms and will not eat. Squidward puts Gary down as he hears SpongeBob and Patrick saying goodbye to each other and tries to force feed Gary. When he hears SpongeBob coming in, Squidward gives up and puts all of Gary's food into his mouth. He greets SpongeBob awkwardly and explains that he was only checking on Gary.

Just as Squidward is about to leave with a smirk on his face, Gary slowly enters the room. SpongeBob realizes that something is wrong, and quickly calls the local veterinarian, Dr. Gill Gilliam. The vet comes over to SpongeBob's house and concludes that a syringe full of snail plasma must be administered to Gary; Dr. Gilliam leaves SpongeBob with the syringe, claiming that he is too squeamish to perform the injection himself. SpongeBob asks Squidward to give Gary the plasma, as he too is squeamish, and Squidward reluctantly agrees. However, an anxious SpongeBob constantly moves Gary around instead of holding him still, fearing that Squidward's attempts to inject the plasma in a quick stabbing motion will hurt Gary. In the commotion, Squidward accidentally injects SpongeBob with the plasma through his nose, causing SpongeBob to worry about the consequences; Squidward tells him not to worry.

As the two argue, Gary goes to take a drink of water and immediately feels better. Annoyed, Squidward leaves, insisting to SpongeBob that nothing will happen. Sometime later, SpongeBob starts acting slow and somewhat like a snail, as well as eating Gary's food himself after SpongeBob thinks that he is fine like Squidward had said. When he goes to the bathroom, his eyes stretch out of his body and grow, his body becomes flat to the ground, his arms and legs disappear into his body, his body reshapes itself, and he also loses the ability to talk and tilts his eyes after saying "Something is wrong with meeeeeeeeeow!" As a finished result, SpongeBob has now turned into a snail.

Afterwards, he goes over to Squidward's house to get help, but Squidward is terrified of the fact that SpongeBob turned into a snail because of his lousy aim, and he blames the snail plasma for turning him into a snail while throws it away and he tries to reassure himself. He hears SpongeBob at the door and starts blocking the doors and windows and tries to run and hide from SpongeBob as he realizes that he should have taken care of Gary and none of this would have ever happened if he had. SpongeBob chases him for help, but Squidward keeps running in panic, thinking he is under attack, and ultimately makes a mess of his house. Amongst the chaos, Squidward accidentally injects himself with the snail plasma and ironically turning him into a snail as well.

Later that night, Gary, SpongeBob, and Squidward meowing to the tune of "Blow the Man Down" on top of a fence. Patrick, who has been awakened and annoyed by this, yells at them to clam up (meaning of shut up) and throws a boot at Squidward, knocking him off the fence, but they still continue singing before the episode ends.
