Chapter 9

Nami attempts to team up with Luffy. The Buggy Pirates try to find the map she stole, but when they return to Buggy empty-handed, he shoots one with his cannon. Nami takes Luffy into a house and she explains to him the situation and who Buggy is. Luffy asks her if she wants to join his crew; she refuses. Luffy explains to her why his straw hat is a treasure. Nami says that the thing she hates most are pirates. They leave the house and go to search for Buggy, but Nami tricks Luffy, ties him up with a rope, and brings him to Buggy to broker a deal. Zoro arrives at the village.

Femme Fatale

Nami invites Luffy to join her, claiming to be a thief who steals from pirates. Nami asks Luffy what is so important about his hat that made him mad when Buggy's crew touched it, wondering if it had jewels or a treasure map inside.

On the roof of a bar, Buggy is dealing with one of his crew members after Nami got away. Buggy mishears him, thinking that he said something about his nose being strange. The man is raised into the air via Buggy's Devil Fruit powers; Buggy orders the rest of the crew to put a cannon to the man and fire. With the man killed by cannon fire, Buggy orders everyone to search the town for the thief and any treasure to be found.

In a house elsewhere, Nami asks Luffy about his crew's numbers. After knowing they were only two, she explains to Luffy who Buggy is and why the town is empty, as the populace is sheltering. She warns Luffy that Buggy is fond of using his cannon and that he once destroyed a whole town because a boy made fun of his nose. Nami gets fed up with Luffy's short attention span and tendency to ignore her.

Nami reveals her quest to gather 100,000,000 belly and buy a village. She begins to talk about the plan she has for the Grand Line map she stole: she will go there and steal from all the famous pirates in that ocean, who she thinks must possess more treasure. Nami confirms she is a navigator and Luffy is excited about her joining in his adventure; however, when he tells her he is a pirate, she changes her mind. Nami reiterates her suspicion about the straw hat Luffy carries, thinking there must be a treasure map inside. Luffy tells her about the symbolic value of the hat, as it was given to him by his friend, to whom he swore he'd create a pirate crew. Nami explains she hates pirates the most, only liking mikan and money. However, as she now knows that Luffy does not have treasure or much intelligence, she suddenly has an idea. She agrees to join him if he comes with her to see Buggy. However, she takes some rope with her and as they approach his hideout, Nami ties Luffy up with it.

Buggy is telling off his crew who believe they are about to be killed for not being able to find the thief who stole their map. They explain that, in their perception, with the thief, Nami, there was her boss, Luffy, who was the reason they couldn't retrieve the map. Just then Nami and Luffy enter the scene, to Buggy's surprise. Nami hands over Luffy, claiming she had an argument with her boss, and decides to pretend to join Buggy's crew, handing over the map she stole. Luffy is imprisoned in a cage.

Elsewhere, Zoro arrives at the island with the pirates he encountered on the way, who explain that their crew is raiding the village at the moment. Zoro decides to meet Buggy to gather information about Luffy.

Short Mission 7

The chapter covers an episode of Spy Wars. In an exploding building, Bondman attempts to persuade his partner, Agent M, to leave without him. Agent M refuses, confessing her love to him and they escape in a car. During this, Bondman introduces himself as a master spy who serves in every region of the world.

Next, a female spy for an enemy country threatens him with a gun. When Bondman counters that they're the same species and a line on a map shouldn't make them enemies, the enemy spy tells him to end the conflict if that is what he believes. Bondman brokers a peace treaty between their two countries and the two joyfully embrace.

A young girl tearfully request Bondman to help stop her father who's obsessed with developing a nuclear weapon. After Bondman knocks out her father, the two hold hands and the girl says she will ask for her father's blessing when he comes to. Bondman continues to recruit more girls into his harem, including a girl getting revenge for her terrorist boyfriend, the boss of an evil organization, his landlord, and various other girls.

At the end, the girls angrily gang up on Bondman, calling him a playboy and telling him to pick one of them. Smiling, Bondman refuses to pick one of them and says he needs to bring joy to all the ladies of the world. Enraged, the girls inflict abuse at Bondman, with Agent M slapping him, the terrorist's ex-girlfriend stabbing him, the enemy spy shooting him, the boss shooting him with a raygun, and finally the young lady uses a nuclear weapon on him.

Despite the amount of abuse, Bondman somehow still lives and he muses that danger comes with the territory as a spy, ending the episode. Anya, who is watching the show, comments that this must be one of those lovey-dovey shows that she can talk about with Becky. Loid tells her to stop, confused and disgusted with Bondman for calling himself a gentleman.

Nu Wa

When two warring Gods shattered the World Pillar, Heaven and Earth dangerously shifted, and Armageddon was unleashed. Firestorms, floods, and bloodthirsty monsters ravaged the land and stole the lives of more than can be counted. In ages past, Nu Wa, Guardian of Heaven and Earth, hand-crafted all people from clay. They were her creations, her children, her responsibility.

As the Earth shuddered and broke, and the skies turned black with ash, Nu Wa forged five mystic stones, one for each of the elemental forces of nature: Earth, Water, Fire, Wood, and Metal. With the power of these stones, she slew a gargantuan tortoise, severed its legs, and raced to the broken World Pillar. One leg she used to prop the Heavens aloft and with the elemental stones, she sealed it in place. Balance between Heaven and Earth was restored, but the world was never the same. Skies cleared, but the stars had shifted. Seas retreated, but rivers drained westward. Everything leaned, but the End was averted.

In the years that followed, Nu Wa and her brother, Fu Xi, took the throne of China. They ruled with wisdom and ushered in an age of recovery and prosperity, for which she is adored and worshipped to this day.

Yet, the skies grow dark once more and chaos threatens to engulf the land. Gods from all Pantheons have chosen Earth as a battleground, trading blows with the same thoughtless fervor that destroyed the World Pillar so long ago. Determined to prevent such calamity from repeating, Nu Wa has summoned the elemental stones once more. For she is the Guardian of Heaven and Earth; all mankind are her creations, her children, her responsibility.

Their gimmick revolves around writing content that is based on mainly subjects related to the Warcraft universe, though they have more recently extended into StarCraft and Diablo lore as well. The band debuted in 2003 with their first song, "Power of the Horde", which was featured in the credits of Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne.

ETC, as he appears in Heroes of the Storm, is the mascot of that band.

The Bloody Case of the Lovely Pop Idol

血ぬられたアイドル

Seeing the dead body, Kogoro immediately orders Ran to summon the Police. When Inspector Megure arrives with his investigation unit, he is annoyed to see Kogoro because apparently when Kogoro was an officer under Megure's command he made cases difficult. Megure also complains about the heat in the room, which Yoko confirms is unusual. Conan points out several other oddities in the room and accidentally starts analyzing the case aloud, earning looks from both Kogoro and Megure. The coroner confirms that the body died from a knife that belongs to Yoko, and Megure inquires whether Yoko or Yamagishi recognize the victim.

Yamagishi nervously approaches the body to look and clumsily slips in the blood, which Conan realizes was manufactured to cover picking something up off the body to hide it. After Yamagishi denies recognition and prompts Yoko to agree, Conan discovers that the hidden object was a long hair. Megure suspects Yoko, but Kogoro assumes that Yamagishi having a key to Yoko's apartment means he is the killer instead. However, the key was recently lost at the recording studio — and Yoko's worries about a stalker began after that. Meanwhile, Conan continues investigating and discovers an earring under Yoko's couch, but cannot get the adults to look until he uses the bowtie to imitate an adult's voice. Yoko recognizes the earring as belonging to Yuko Ikezawa, a fellow TV star, and after Yamagishi mentions that Yuko holds a grudge for losing out on an acting role to Yoko, several officers go to bring Yuko to the scene for questioning.
