Chapter 117

On Kyuka Island, Mr. 3 and Miss Goldenweek hear about Mr. 5's defeat and decide to go after the Straw Hats. Meanwhile, Dorry and Brogy's battle ends in a draw again and the two giants go back to talk with the Straw Hats, with Brogy giving Dorry some rum that Nami and Usopp gave him. However, Dorry's rum explodes, and he believes that the Straw Hats did this, causing him and Luffy to face off.

Dorry and Brogy

On Kyuka Island, Mr. 3 is lounging around drinking tea when his partner Miss Goldenweek says that she is bored. He tells her to enjoy her time off and to not call him by his codename so casually, and asks about the paper she has been staring at for a few days. To his shock, it is their next set of orders from their boss, and he finds out that Mr. 5 has been beaten. Mr. 3 says that Mr. 5 is an overconfident fool who overestimates his Devil Fruit abilities, and decides to go and teach the people that beat him a lesson about antagonizing their organization.

On Little Garden, Nami and Usopp watch as Dorry and Brogy fight each other viciously, not holding back in any of their attacks and often barely avoiding receiving fatal strikes. Nami wants to take this opportunity to escape, but Usopp wants to watch a little longer, expressing how impressed he is by the giants' pride and wanting to become a brave warrior of the sea like them someday. He states that he would like to visit their giant warrior village Elbaf one day. After exchanging several more blows, Dorry and Brogy's fight ends in a draw for the 73,466th time, and Brogy offers Dorry some rum he got from Nami and Usopp.

Dorry takes the rum back to his campsite, where he finds out that Nami and Usopp are with Luffy and Vivi. Vivi asks about the Log Pose taking a year to finish recording Little Garden, and Dorry confirms this, revealing that all the human skeletons around them are of sailors who perished before their Log set. Dorry says that he only has an Eternal Pose that points toward Elbaf, and Vivi weeps over what might happen to her country if she is stuck here for a year. Dorry jokingly suggests setting sail there and leaving it to fate, and laughs when Luffy is open to the idea. Meanwhile, Usopp tells Brogy about his dream, and Brogy states that the giants' biggest wish is to die without tarnishing their pride. Suddenly, Dorry's rum explodes while he is drinking it, greatly injuring him and knocking him over. Luffy is sure that Brogy would never do something underhanded like that, but this leaves Dorry to believe that they are the culprits as he confronts Luffy and Vivi. Luffy gives Vivi his straw hat as he goes to fight Dorry, despite Vivi's pleas.

Mission 98

At Eden Academy, Martha approaches Henry, now a teacher, to ask about his appearance at the school. Henry explains that because of a personnel shortage due to the war, the degree program has been shortened by half a year. Martha proudly shows Henry her Imperial Scholar cape, and the two resume their tea parties while they catch each other up on what they have been doing since they last parted.

During an air raid drill, Henry escorts Martha's class to the school's shelter. Inside, Martha asks if Henry will be exempt from the draft as he is a teacher, but he corrects that they are only being deferred. Henry begins to wonder if even education is powerless in their situation, as his own relatives asked if he became a teacher to dodge the draft and preferred that he taught physics to support the war effort. One day, Martha is devastated to learn that many members of the ballet troupe she was going to join were killed in an air raid to support a war-torn Anber. Martha grieves at her and Henry's spot in the garden, and she later looks to him for support.

Later, Henry is furious to learn that Martha volunteered for the Woman's Defense Auxiliary and confronts her. Martha explains that her dream of ballet has died as the ballet company announced its disbandment. Henry believes she is giving up and tries to make her reconsider, but Martha proclaims that she is fighting back to protect what she has left, including him. Still stubbornly believing in his ideals to change the world and his principles, Henry could not refute any of Martha's arguments, and the two bitterly part ways.

As the senior students prepare for their graduation party, Martha walks by the teachers' office and overhears that Henry's cousin has died in the war. The topic changes to Henry finding a wife before he gets drafted, with Henry saying that his parents have been pushing marriage prospects on him. Martha is shocked to hear this and cries to herself as she wonders what to do. Overhearing a couple agreeing to dance together at the graduation party, Martha knows what she must do before Henry leaves again.

At the graduation party, Martha, dressed in her uniform, invites Henry to a dance. Henry shows off his lack of dancing skills, to Martha's amusement. Henry then apologizes to Martha for how he had disrespected her feelings and ideals while forcing his on her. Martha decides to confess her feelings to Henry before their dance ends, but her confession is interrupted by the alarm for an air raid.

Squid on Strike

After finding profits to be slightly lower than usual at the Krusty Krab, Mr. Krabs decides to start billing his employees for doing the most normal things including talking, chewing, breathing, lollygagging, and even existing. Squidward finds this to be outrageously unfair, and he convinces SpongeBob that they should go on strike. SpongeBob, initially not knowing what it means to go on strike, is devastated when he is fired. Squidward, however, assures him that he will have his job back "and more."

Squidward starts them off by making SpongeBob throw his hat on the ground, but he couldn't do it since he refuses to let go of his own hat, making Squidward get a ticket for littering from the police. Then he makes a sign stating "Krusty Krab Unfair," but SpongeBob writes his as "Krusty Krab Funfair," making the restaurant more popular. Squidward then has SpongeBob memorize derogatory slogans about Mr. Krabs and the restaurant, though their meaning flies over SpongeBob's head. He draws the attention of an eager young teenager who thinks of SpongeBob as a living legend. Rather than joining him in the strike, however, he heads inside the restaurant to take SpongeBob's job.

Squidward then attempts to give a speech to the people of Bikini Bottom, who grow so excited by his words that they build up an appetite and rush over him to eat at the Krusty Krab. Mr. Krabs steps outside to taunt him about how beneficial the strike has been for his bottom line. Standing up for Squidward, SpongeBob turns against Mr. Krabs and tells him that they will stay on strike forever until his unfair pay deduction policy is abolished. The word "forever" accidentally strikes a nerve with Squidward, who realizes what he has done and grows deeply unsettled at the thought of being on a never-ending strike with SpongeBob.

Meanwhile, SpongeBob has taken the words of Squidward's speech to heart and spends the night literally dismantling the establishment that is the Krusty Krab. Squidward and Mr. Krabs soon arrive, having come to an agreement. Squidward is horrified to see the Krusty Krab in shambles, while SpongeBob stands proudly among the wreckage. When Mr. Krabs discovers his restaurant is completely destroyed, he becomes so furious that he literally falls to pieces and remarks that in order to pay for the damages, Squidward and SpongeBob will work for him forever. SpongeBob jumps in joy while realizing the true meaning of "forever," while Squidward suddenly once more takes in the full meaning of it.

One eternity later, SpongeBob and Squidward are shown as nothing but a (literal) skeleton crew, still working at the Krusty Krab, as the episode ends.
