Chapter 120

Brogy defeats Dorry thanks to Mr. 3's interference, but Mr. 3 then comes in and overwhelms Brogy by using the power of the Doru Doru no Mi to cover his body in wax. Meanwhile, Mr. 5 and Miss Valentine confront Luffy, Usopp, and Vivi after defeating Karoo, and they capture Vivi to bring her to Mr. 3.

The Red Ogre Weeps

Mr. 3's interference allows Brogy to land a great blow on Dorry's chest, defeating the latter. Luffy becomes very enraged and yells out, wanting to know who had weakened Dorry. Miss Goldenweek hears him, but Mr. 3 pays no attention. Brogy starts to cry with happiness over finally winning in their duel, when Mr. 3 approaches him and thanks him. He introduces himself to Brogy before revealing that he has encased the giant's feet with wax using the power of the Doru Doru no Mi.

Meanwhile, Usopp and Vivi decide to go find the people who harmed Dorry. Right then, however, Mr. 5 and Miss Valentine come out of the woods with a defeated Karoo. Mr. 5 reveals that they had been trying to lure Vivi away from Luffy by forcing Karoo to cry out for her, but the duck refused even to the point of severe beating. Usopp asks if they put the bomb in Dorry's rum, which they affirm, and they note that they had not seen him before. Usopp and Vivi then pull out their weapons and race to attack, with Usopp launching an explosive shot at Mr. 5. However, Mr. 5 is unharmed due to his Devil Fruit power, and he responds by flicking an explosive ball of mucus at Usopp. Miss Valentine then leaps into the air before becoming much heavier and slamming into Usopp. Vivi attempts to attack Mr. 5, but he overwhelms her with an explosion before grabbing her by the neck. He says that he is not going to kill Vivi, but rather take her to Mr. 3 on his orders. Meanwhile, Mr. 3 has pinned Brogy to the ground with his wax as he states his intention to create a masterpiece of artwork.

Short Mission 12

A week before Eden Academy's end-of-class gala, Becky and Anya agree to pick out dresses together on their next day off. On that day, the girls, accompanied by Martha, go to a dress store. Anya tells Becky that Loid (who wants to fit under WISE's budget) requested that she get a dress that was already made. Becky assures her that the ready-to-wear dresses have been amazing lately, though Martha comments that they can still be pricey.

Becky decides to first get Anya's dress, looking for something that will push Damian over the edge and knock him dead. Anya mistakes Becky's idioms and shudders at the thought of having a dress to kill. Becky has Anya try on several dress styles to see what might suit her best. Becky asks Martha for her opinion but remembers that the latter does not care about clothes and stuff. Martha remarks that she used to fret over dress choices as well. A surprised Becky asks if Martha had a boyfriend, to which Martha simply chuckles to herself. Anya ultimately chooses her own dress, a stylish black dress that reminds her of Yor's assassin dress. Becky agrees with her choice and decides to wear a cute dress with sparkles. After the girls make their choices, the shop employee informs them that the dresses will be delivered to them in a few days.

Anya is dropped off at her home, where Loid is dismayed to learn that the price of the dress is 5,000 dalc. Loid falls to the floor in despair and tells Anya that they will return this dress and rent another one, fearing Sylvia's wrath. However, Anya informs him that the dress order cannot be canceled. With no way out, Loid is determined to ensure that the money spent for Plan B will yield results and menacingly tells Anya that they will practice her dancing. Anya's dance practice does not go well, with Anya struggling to keep up with Loid's instructions while he yells at her.

Anya accidentally steps on Bond's tail, causing him to flail and bump into Yor, who spills some drinks on him. As Yor cleans up the mess, the exhausted Loid decides to give up on the dance and thinks to himself that there is always Plan C with Yor, shocking Anya when she hears his thoughts. Anya tells Loid she does not want to give up and wants to practice until she gets it right, reminding him that he told her that making friends was important and that she wants to work hard at becoming close with Damian. Loid smiles and relents, agreeing to practice some more after school tomorrow.

The next day, Anya walks down the school halls with shaky feet, explaining to Becky that she was practicing too much the night before. Behind the pair are Damian and his friends, who make fun of Anya's shaking legs. Ewen and Emile compare her to an animal, while Damian suggests that she got sick from eating eraser shavings after spending all her money on getting a dress and not being able to afford to eat. Their jeers annoy Anya, and she stomps to the boys to confront them, while Becky tries to advise Anya not to let them get to her. After school, Loid calls Anya for their dance practice, but the upset Anya stubbornly refuses, much to his confusion.

SpongeGuard on Duty

One day at Goo Lagoon, SpongeBob and Patrick are sunbathing. SpongeBob notices the adoration that the lifeguard, Larry the Lobster, receives, and fantasizes about how "cool" it would be if he was a lifeguard himself, but Patrick has no fondness for lifeguards. After being told to conceal his large gut by another beach-goer, Patrick stomps off to the snack bar. SpongeBob declares that he is already as cool as Larry and that nothing but an airborne ice cream truck striking him down could prove otherwise.

One such collision later, Larry helps SpongeBob up and sees that vanilla ice cream has been smeared on his nose. Thinking that it is sunscreen and that therefore he is a lifeguard, Larry enlists the all-too-eager SpongeBob in helping him with his duties. As a lifeguard, SpongeBob becomes very popular and does many fun activities, and is happy to accept taking the second shift solo. However, Larry hears a swimmer drowning and saves him, causing SpongeBob to realize too late that the role of a lifeguard is a serious one that involves rescuing people from mortal danger.

His shift now over, Larry heads off for the tanning booth with some girls, leaving SpongeBob, who cannot swim, in charge of the beach. SpongeBob tries to laugh off his fears, but cannot help but imagine the sea of swimmers in the lagoon as a sea of tombstones instead. In a panic, he alerts all the fish to an "emergency" and orders to get them out of the lagoon. When asked what is happening, he claims that sharks have infested the lagoon, a comment that does not sit well with a family of sapient sharks in the crowd. He then raves about a sea monster, and is then confronted by an actual sea monster who slaps SpongeBob in the face. The frustrated crowd then disperses and heads back to the lagoon, much to SpongeBob's dismay.

Stressed out from watching the beach-goers engaging in risky activities, SpongeBob resorts to luring everyone out of the lagoon with free ice cream. Once everyone has some to eat, SpongeBob points out that they must now wait one hour to re-enter the lagoon, then binds them with police tape to enforce this rule. Patrick (who has been in the restroom) runs out in search of ice cream when SpongeBob gloats about how his trick makes him superior to Larry. Misreading the police tape as a sign for ice cream, he breaks through it to go into the lagoon, where he gets butt cramps and starts drowning.

The crowd tries to alert SpongeBob to this real emergency, but he initially refuses to believe them. However, he eventually sees Patrick and springs into action, desperate to find a way to save him without having to swim. First, he tries tossing a life saver, which does not go very far to reach; next, after running around in a circle, trying to figure out another way to rescue Patrick, SpongeBob gets an idea and suggests preventing Patrick from drowning if there is no water, so he uses a straw that he grabs to simply just drink all the water in the lagoon, but accidentally drinks up Patrick too, in which the starfish gets trapped inside SpongeBob, who has to spit him and the lagoon back out. He then confiscates a boatmobile from a couple in the parking lot, though he returns their hot dog.

SpongeBob rows the boat out to the lagoon in a rescue attempt, but the frantic Patrick tears it apart in a panic while flailing his arms. Upon realizing his actions, he and SpongeBob both start drowning, with Patrick actively harming SpongeBob up to stay afloat. Now knowing the truth about SpongeBob, the beachgoers leave the charlatan lifeguard and his friend to their fate. As they say their goodbyes, Larry arrives in time to pull them up from the ankle-deep lagoon.

Realizing that SpongeBob does not know how to swim, Larry sets him and Patrick to work practicing their swimming in a kiddie pool, but not before asking the former if he is a lifeguard, to which he confesses that he is not. They both somehow wind up with butt cramps, which ends the episode with Patrick still lamenting his lack of ice cream.
